Oh the Cuben as bitten me.

So cool. Only for the weight conscious or worth the price tag for anyone? Wouldn't mind another 4 season tarp for my backup HH. The WBBB already has a Superfly. Seems I should get a great set of quilts before dropping 300$ Ducats for a Cuben fiber.

    Intrigued I am.

Right now I am chillin under my new camo winter palace here in the white mountains. I see mt madison from my hammock, 1 mile below the summit. Tomorrow we will hike the presidential range. Life is good ... life is better with cuben. ;-)

If you already have a SF and you're in need of decent insulation, I'd say wait on the cuben. Unless the extra 10oz is really bothering you with the SF and you have lots of money to burn. That is just where I am right now. With my financial situation, I just can't justify paying over twice the price when I could lose 10oz in another area easier. But, as always, HYOH.
I may be dumb, but at least I'm ugly!

I've done so much, with so little, for so long, now I can do anything with nothing.

It's not peer pressure, it's just your turn.

You would not believe how light and strong it is. My DIY cuben tarp is worth every penny -- only wish that I had joined the seam better. I know what to do better next time.

I'm drawn to it but priorities dictate otherwise. I do see one in my future, maybe a DIY unless a get a good cash flow going again....

I'm terribly interested as well. My plan is this:
    1. Underquilt
    2. Topquilt
    3. Probably the same things for my wife
    4. Cuben
    5.......
    6. Profit
