    Because they're 1" straps, You might also want to try other things, such as duct tape. Also try tying it to the buckles loosly.

    Here is an old trick that some spoke highly of, though I have never really put it to the test. Twist the strap a few times, between hammock and tree. Test it either with a water hose or let it sit out in the yard during an all night rain. Some have claimed success with this approach. Me, I often use more than one approach, and drip lines are an easy one.
