Made one of these with just some cereal box cardboard, taped it down to thread injector base, got out some scrap fabric and can confirm that it works like a charm! This is gonna come in real handy when I do my next hammock soon.

Thank you for sharing this PrisonerOfGravity it's so simple yet so handy!

    So impressed with this!

Just wish I'd seen this before I embarked on hemming 24' of 1.1oz ripstop for my first knotty inspired hammock - POG - this will save me hours!!!!

Re: DIY Grosgrain and Rolled Hem Guides

Wow! Haha this is genius. I'll definitely be trying this on my next project. I just sewed up two hammocks and was thinking the whole time that there has to be an easier way

    Slicker Than Snot!

I just used this to make the neatest, straightest, fastest rolled hem of my life. I wish I'd known about this 30 years ago!

An observation: Make sure to have a bit of clearance between the inner and outer folds. The fist jig I made was too tight resulting in too much friction to pull the fabric through. After I re-made the jig it worked like a charm.

How do you get the fabric started in the channel? Do you unravel the jig and then roll it up again with the fabric inside and tape it down? I'm having a hell of a time getting this to work. Ripstop is so slippery. Is there a trick? Anyone got a video of how to set up a length of fabric in one of these things and sew it?
