Best practice for suspension of Hennessy Hammock Deep Jungle XL?

    Hi folks:

I just got my Hennessy Hammock Deep Jungle XL hammock in the mail today. I set it up with the slings and instead of doing that figure 8 + half hitch I used the slings + taut line hitch which seemed to work OK and it was pretty easy to remove the loaded knot.

I'm wondering for those of you who have Hennessy Hamocks... is there a better option than this out there? I know there's such a thing as the Whoopy slings but I'm wondering if that's something I need? I know with the taut line hitch you can slide the knot to various tensions and it doesn't take that long to setup.

    I'm primarily concerned with:
    1) Speed of setup
    2) Adjustability once suspended (I hate to have to untie / retie knots)
    3) Speed of breakdown

    Thank you in advance!

For setup speed, I don't think you can get much faster than whoopies. The marlin spike hitch is super easy to tie.
Just tie the hitch, loop the whoopies on, make some quick adjustments, and you're ready to hang.

Yep, take the stock suspension off, install whoopie slings, and its easy and fast, going up and down.
As an alternate, install a continuous loop instead of the whoops, and you can use straps with cinch buckles, also fast and easy.

What are straps with cinch buckles? Like Eno's Slap Straps? Can you explain further please?

Whoopie is named for the feeling you get when your Clark is erected in under 3 minutes. Don't hesitate to switch...you'll NEVER regret it.

    Here's a link to Dutch's cinch buckle system: http://dutchwaregear.com/hennesy-cin...nsion-kit.html

Wrap the tree strap around the tree, slip it into the Dutch Clip, adjust the tree strap length via the cinch buckle. Climbing carabiners are an option to the Dutch Clip.

I started with whoopies but am now switching over to the cinch buckle; either system is a fine alternative to the original.
