You'll be fine. The hex pattern is the "standard" go to around here for a 3 season tarp. If you want more privacy, or plan to camp in colder weather then do something larger, or add doors.

As mentioned, the hex tarp is the most commonly used tarp shape for three season use because it offers good protection while shaving a little weight due to the shape. If you are not counting ounces, the winter tarp with doors is nice for additional weather protection and privacy. I use my hex tarp for backpacking and my winter tarp for canoe and winter trips.

The nice thing about the hex tarp, is that you can make doors for it if you want to convert it into a winter tarp.

I used those instructions and my tarp came out great.

How long are your guyses hammocks? And also do you tell the length of the hammock buy like one gathered end to another while its hanging or on gathered end to another when its layer out completely flat with no ridge line?

10 feet is a common length but 11 feet has become very popular because it helps eliminate the calf ridge pressure gathered end hammocks can cause.

How you measure the hammock for the purpose of determining the length of the structural ridgeline depends on how you gather the ends. If you are sewing end channels I'd just measure from one finished edge to another. Those points would be where the SRL would end up connected. If you plan on whipping the ends (Warbonnet style for example) you should take this into account since there will be extra rolled and gathered fabric past where the SRL will be connected.

No worries there. Once the hammock is hung it will be around 100 inches end to end straight across give or take for personal preference so you'll have over 2 feet of coverage from the ends of your hammock with a 13 foot tarp. That's more than most people have so you're good to go.
