    question about Catenary Curves.. on the DIY Gear Supply instructions, it says to "Approximate with a piece of string" and then to set the depth of the curve to 5"


    What happens if your a little off (say 4.5" on one side, 5" on the opposite), or a little lopsided in the curve (say, where the apex of the curve is off center)?

    Tbh I do t think it will make much if a difference I'm sure mine aren't perfect(which personally bothers me when I know stuffs not even) but I'm sure it will pitch the same I have always herd the ridge line is the most important part for getting the ridge line sewn strait and even.

    2nd on Viper's response.

    It really won't make that much of a difference. I've used a lot of different depths on the curves and really liked 5" best, so that's why I put it in the instructions. Anything close is going to work great, including the symmetry of the curve.

    Just do the best you can with what you've got - and just remember - any deviation from the design is simply "custom".
