Just attended another week of scout camp -- believe this is my 10th or 11th year at Buckskin Reservation. Took 12 Scouts with us, plus 1 on staff. Got in some fly fishing and caught crappie and sun fish, but Wilbur the big bass eluded me.
Cooked in camp one day. The boys made bacon cheese burgers on the fire coals while the Ol'Goat patrol used dutch ovens to make chicken pot pie and pineapple/apple dump cake .
I've been taking my hammock the last several years and hanging out back of the tents. This year, tried out my PLUQ - still having some problems with the suspension and had a slight air gap on my back. The next day was really breezy and I did a lot of testing and finally got it pulled up to eliminate CBS. Still do not believe it to be the best way to connect the PLUQ to the hammock but it worked.
Was a great week only ruined by having to leave
Photos: 1st two are of my HH; 3rd one is showing a small part of the lake (a deer is swimming on the far bank, but my zoom couldn't quite get there); 4th is the stream formed at the base of the dam
