    Overcover?

I have heard of them and I was wondering if someone could explain exactly what an overcover was and if you have pictures please post them.

I don't have pictures but basically an overcover is a piece of breathable fabric that can zip around the hammock instead of or even with the bug netting. For example the WBXLC has a completly removable bug net. In winter you can zip off the bug netting and zip on an over cover. The over cover will help retain heat inside the hammock better then a bug net and certainly better then a net less hammock. Check out the Warbonnet site I'm pretty sure he has a video of his XLC in over cover mode. Also Dream Hammock has a hammock where it has both the bug netting and over cover attached to the hammock. You can kinda think of it like half a hammock sock that only covers the top of the hammock hope this helps
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

My pleasure. A ton of stuff to learn here and the best way to learn is to read and ask. Happy Hanging.

Then there is the half cover that works inside the bug net or netless.
Will get a pic up after I get back into town later this week. I have used it as a cover like a sheet for hot weather and over the quilt when it gets colder. Very useful around here with the altitude and northern location.
