The fall is my favorite time in LA. I hope it doesn't move to the spring. We still have leaves on the trees and it is finally cooling off. Fly fishing is too good in the mountains to hang in LA during the spring. But if I can make it work, I will go to either or both...

3 years ago we started with only 2 hangers in the fall and I was one of them. I'd like to keep the fall tradition going. It is unfortunate that our hang conflicts with our neighbors across the Sabine. Maybe we can coordinate with our TX brothers on a TX/LA hang in spring...somewhere close to the border.

So what would you call that one? The LATEX hang? I know, I know. It's a family oriented forum. Keep it clean.

Ha you may be on to something there. I like the LATEX idea. You get the best of both states.

You'd have to find a laaaaarge place to pull that one off. There's a bunch of folks from both groups, but that would be fun to to try!

Do I feel a new event a brewin'?

The LATEX hang could use a large campground or better yet two campgrounds, close together, within an hour from each other....like camps on the east and west side of Toledo Bend (example: after a quick Google search I came across two campgrounds that are a 16 minute drive from each other. I have never been to either site and this is what I could find
http://www.midlakecampground.com/ on the Texas side and
    http://www.toledo-bend.com/directory...appytrails.asp on the Louisiana side).
There could different competitions, LA vs. TX (of course TX won't stand a chance) and have a big dinner in each campsite with entertainment on separate nights. It would prollay have to take advantage of a good 4-day weekend like memorial day or some other small holiday. And if this works out well, why stop with TX? We have nebighors to the north and east.....am I getting carried away, is this not a good idea (unless everyone shows up wearing latex)? What does TX think?

    Site selected

Alrighty then, so we have got our location. After a day of scouting we have found a place that offers electric hook-ups, water, hot shower houses, flushing toilets, and a fishing wharf/boat launch.

We spoke with the campground manager and Sonny will be happy to have us. As soon as he heard we were from Lafayette he was thrilled, and he kept asking about cooking. I think Sonny's stomach will be happy to have us more than anything.

Where, do you ask, is this wonderful place that will accommodate the needs of our many hangers? Kincaid Recreation Area, located on the majestic Kincaid Lake. The area is located just a mile or so (as the crow flies) from our previous hangs.

It is a really pretty area and it offers a bunch of opportunities we didn't have at our previous location. You can find a info here or a map here

The only hitch in this plan is this, campsites cannot be reserved. They guys and I are going to go out early on the 7th and get a few sites. Anyone wanting to join us on those sites are more than welcome to. We are allowed 15 people per site. The campsites are $15 a night. Anyone wanting to get their own site is more than welcome.

Anyone wanting to stay on one of the sites we get the Thursday is welcome. All we ask is that you contribute to the cost of the site. We are talking $45 for three nights which if we can get the max fifteen people is $3 per person...total. Please indicate on the hang spreadsheet if you would like to share a site.
