Today I made my first hammock. I used some rip stop that I got from joanns. Im sure there are better/lighter fabrics but I was there & had the itch to make a hammock(already had made tarp&UQ). It's 10'6"x58" finished.. Actually I think I like it more than my ENO DN. Seems a bit more comfortable .I haven't made the ridge line yet but will. It also is 11oz (hammock only). Quite a bit lighter than my DN. I thinking of putting bugnet on it. Not sure if I want zippered on edge or shock corded underneath. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Looking to save some weight. I have a guardian for my dn but its heavy and I dont like the vertical zip.Fine for car camping, but not for pack.
