Re: Re-rigged the tarp. I don't like my continuous ridgeline. Need suggestions

I attached my tarp with UCR apparently. I had braided cord so I cut a short section off, made a fixed loop then larks headed it onto the tie out. Tied a not in the free end for grip, then ran 10-15ft of cord through the center of the short piece and back out before the knot. Made fixed loops again at the end of the ridge line for s-biners. Similar to the prussik setup, just using burries and braided cord instead...

My latest tarp ridgeline is two separate lines, about 6ft in length, with Dutch Ti Hooks on each end. The lines are attached to the tarp via prussics.

Here is my feeble attempt to give a illustration--- (----- = line )

Dutch hook tied onto the end of the line------------prussic (attached to tarp ridgeline tie out)-------------stopper knot at end of line to prevent line from being pulled out through the prussic

Just wrap line around the tree and hook the hook to the line, go to the other side, center the tarp as you have a prussic on each side, tension and done.

Thanks for the input. I went ahead and reigged my tarp yesterday.it was easy since i already had the crl and prussics. All i had to do was cut the crl and tie knots. I didnt have dutch clips so used a couple of mini s-biners.
I will try out this new way next time I go out.
