    Amish hangers

The other night some neighbor kids came over to fish in my lake.
When they arrived they were eyeing my hammock set up with curiosity.
After fishing for a while they started asking me questions about it.
They said it was hot in the house trying to sleep,so they were going to put up a tent to sleep in.
While they were fishing I dug out two hammocks that were too small for me,part of my perfect speer hammock trials ,and made up some tree huggers with whoopies.
The young boys were very shy about taking them ,but are now the newest hangers I know.
They raved the next time I saw them on the road about how cool it was at night instead of sweating in the house.
Could be the new Amish craze.

Oooooo The Amish start making hammocks I'm getting one. You wanna talk about well made, hand-made goods, that's the place to start.

There isn't anything against them adopting hammocks, at least the Amish I know in PA will use them in addition to a mess tent (a huge one at that) for barn raising or overnight work in the NE of PA and even over in New Jersey if the property owner doesn't object. I was originally introduced to hammocks by an Amish crew that raised my Father-in-law's barn in 1996. They made it, raised it, and had the roof on in 3 days - 24-ft by 60-ft.

Granted, they use what they make or find "handy" - the same ropes that raised the barn held them up at night, tarps they brought with them to cover the delivered materials covered their hammocks and mess tent. If you've never seem them work - add to bucket list, some of the more friendly people I've ever met so long as you don't want to talk about religion, politics or power tools.

Now you're gonna have to be a forum liaison for them since they can't use the forum to learn all about the wonderful world of hammocking.

Do not know about talking but when it comes to using power tools; they can't own them but they will sure use yours! This is at least true of the group north and east of the burg I live in. Then again they are not the friendliest group either here!
