Congrats on ya! Didn't know if anyone used mule tape. Got 10,000 ft spool in my garage up north. Gonna have to incorporate some into my next DIY. Now I'm gonna have to try a sub-1lb hammock with an incorporated bug net. You've planted the seed.....
You gonna be bringing one of these rigs to the fall MAHHA? I'd love to see one in person.

Curious where you are positioning the tie outs?
I realize it is a preference thing, but I'm just looking for a starting point.

    Thanks,

I started with 28% of length of finished hammock which on a 126" hammock would be 35.28" measured from one end of the hammock to the point of the tie-out. This worked pretty good but I think on future hammocks I will make it more like 32% - 38% and see how that does. I am still figuring out what works best but if I were you I would do a single stitch on the tie out at 35% and see how that suits you, that way you can pop it loose if you dont like it. Having an Adjustable Ridge Line also throws a wrench in the mix. This will differ from person to person so what I like may not be good for others. I'll be sure to include that measurement on future posts of my hammocks. I am also working on a start to finish video tutorial on how I make my hammocks.

Thanks, Yeah that mule tape is awesome stuff but hard to keep clean. The second you get it, it instantly looks dirty when you take it out of the stuff sack to put around the tree..lol
These hammocks may not make it to the Fall MAHHA but i'll be sure to bring a few others. Might bring some bamboo also for those who need any. Was even thinking about donating an UL hammock and suspension to the raffle. May even toss in one of my UL Bamboo Hammock Stands. Just depends if I have time to make em for the hang.

    Cool, thanks.
It looks right on, but your recommended spacing (35%) seems closer to what Lost Biker (14" from center or 28" on center) and headchange4u (13" or 26" on center) used. But of course, now I have to go back and do some math .
And can I say again how amazingly comfortable this fabric is.

I know. That fabric is so dang comfortable for some reason. Wonder if it isnt nylon but a mix of something else and the supplier goofed on the item description. Either way. I wish I could get my hands on another roll of it.

Thanks swoody. This DIY stuff is so much fun. Sometimes difficult but worth the effort.
