    Very Cool!

Nice report by all of you. I think I'll have to add the location to my TO DO list. I really like the DUDE! I can see that he is going to make a fine backpacker. And I think I now know the secret to catching fish - it's the color of the nail polish

Did you guys see the smoke from all the fires burning to the north??

Watercamper, we did not see any smoke that week. Don't think there was anything to major burning then. And yes bright nails seem to work for the girl.

wow, those locations are exactly why i want to move to the MST string of states (or at least spend a LONG vacation there).

what were the temps and bug situations like there.. looked like it was a bit chilly what with the dude rockin the fleece and oatmeal combo.

Great TR! I've been hesitant to bring my seven year old on a Hammock trip but it looks like he would be fine! Does the Dude sleep well in the Hammock?

Bugs were annoying at times. Did not see many skeeters but there were natts that where a big nascence. We had head nets for everyone and spray. They were not bad when we had the fire going. Temps were real comfortable for the elevation. We were in the low 40's overnight and got up around the mid 70's I would guess for day time temps.

Dude does well in the hammock. I set him up next to me and told him to let me know if he needed anything.....He is pretty independent and got up to water the trees both nights on his own. Its a great age to get them started on the trail. 2-4 miles and a light load that you can cary if and when you need to and make it fun.
