No mods here but just some RR glory.

I would look into the undercover or undercover/poncho. It works GREAT to stop cold wind from stealing your heat. I used it a few months ago during a windy snowstorm and never felt the wind taking my heat away. It also works great as a poncho and will cover your pack when you're wearing it. Great multi-use piece of gear.
Potential is nothing without hard work.
Thank you for the tip. I have a wiggys sleep system and to be honest when using my lawson hammock in the winter I actually had to unzip my bag. Both of those bags (ultima thule and ftrss) together are ridiculously warm. What is the deal with the trekking pole mods and the like? What is the point?
awdxtc...The hiking pole mod is for those of us who actually hike with the ridgerunner to save weight (leave the WB poles at home and the hiking poles are double duty). Since you're using a 7+ pound, -60F rated bag system I'm guessing weight isn't an issue.
no weight is really not an issue. In the summer I only carry the light bag of course. I guess I will wait until my first outing to see what I need or should do to the RR to better suit my needs.
I made a small mod to the bugnet. I sewed a small keyring to he head end pull-"up" so i could hang my niteize nightlight above my head, one thing i miss with a RR along with most other people is ridgeline..ImageUploadedByTapatalk1374100685.884574.jpg
Yeah the absence of a ridgeline is a downer. I may have to do something similar. I use a little black diamond lantern or one of my small surefire ligths now. The lawson hammock has a small plastic ring in it that works great for this. I might try to use a spare piece of climbing rope to hang a light from. For now I guess a glow stick will do if I need more than a few seconds of light.
