    Hello from Central Florida!

I've had a hammock for years but never used it! Its just been sitting in its stuff sack inside a box. Im wanting to venture from ground camping and going to hanging. My hammock will be going in my survival bag. So it will be with me all the time haha.

Welcome to the forums. There are many hangers here in Florida.
As a matter of fact, come with us to the "No Underquilt Hang" this coming weekend. Bring your survival bag and do some show-and-tell.
Here is the link to the thread, https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ad.php?t=74126
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

Welcome to the sanest form of madness I've ever known, from NEFL!

You'll find a varied assortment of crazies here, and some of the very best people I've known in my whole life. Although the 'season' in Florida begins in October or November, there are a few of us heading to Hidden Pond in the Ocala Forest this weekend - officially deemed the No UnderQuilt Hang. Check in Forums under Hangouts (Southeast) for more details. (Edited to add: OR you could just hang around for a bit until someone posts the link!)

kc -- Fulltime Hammocker, thanks to Olddog, Samsara, and Duffy!

I would LOVE to come out this weekend but unfortunately, this is my long weekend to work. I will have to keep an eye out for another event to make it out then!

Welcome aboard from another Lakelander, down on the south side. We have about 3 regular seasonal hangs with another 3 spur of the moment types. Always ready to have someone new join in and as Mighty mouse said we are a varied assortment. Just not sure of the number of crazies.
Most of us end up poorer here but richer for being here. Olddog, Fulltime hammocker, 365 nights a year.
