Been working on a hybrid SWT/DeLuxe tarp idea for the BB. Evolved into a
hex cat cut that's more rectangular than the DeLuxe with 3 tie outs per side, but not evenly spaced. Center tie outs at ~1/3 vs. centered. 130-144" ridgeline. The BB wing tie out and the center tie outs would share the same stakes. Some flexibility in tie out options for the tarp. Including just completely closing off the head end while leaving the foot end fully open to partially closed. With the limited width of Spinntex the max width of the tarp will probably prevent complete closing at the foot end without the foot box touching the tarp. But then no mist through with Spinn. Should end up 2-3 oz heavier the the Spinntex DeLuxe.

    Doors on a MacCat

I used to always use a bridge and wanted the coverage so I sewed Omni Velcro around the ends of my oversize 13x17 MacCat. I put pull outs on it too and it was huge, and heavy, about 2.2 pounds. But with using my BB most the time now, I bought a Speer Winter Tarp. Here are some pictures.

Thanks for the pics, Raw! I'll have to try that with my SWT this spring. Makes the "W" less significant...

I've done that with my DIY SWT. I fastened the smallest bungee cord I could get, at my local boating supply store, to each of the four door flaps. I tied very small S-hooks onto the loose ends of each cord. To close the doors I just stretch the cords over to the D-rings on the opposite sides and hook the S-hook to the D-ring. To tie the door flaps together as in the picture I hook the S-hooks together underneath each side. If you want the doors staked down but open I stake it down with the S-hook on the stake.

    hybrid

great idea, gives me some ideas as i'm ready to modify my tarpage.
My current(usual) setup, I rig my tarp(9X12) where the longer side is windward, approx 8ft, and 4ft on the other. The ridgeline is high enough so that i have a nice awning to stand under, and if it rains i can cook, etc. If it starts blowing(rain or just cold), i just drop the windward side to the ground and stake.
