There was an Old Man with a owl,
Who continued to bother and howl;
He sat on a rail, And imbibed bitter ale,
Which refreshed that Old Man and his owl.WOO
Off topic, but just read about the red feather of the British in 1777 Battle of Paoli.
New guy here. I really like the DIY threads. I'm a tinkerer by nature so "homemade" has a certain draw.
I used to devour the info about hammock suspension. But now that I've tried many, and settled on one, Then I focused on improving my cook kit. I then headed for the 'tarp suspension' info. However, I think I've 'perfected' my tarp system and cook kit so now I spend a lot of time checking out the backpack threads. And...I always check the posts about my favorite hammocks...and...the paddling threads. Oh, and the 'For Sale' stuff. OK, I guess no favorite thread...

Deepening Your Fire Skills by bill is a great one and the DIY threads have helped so much.

Cold climate hanging experiences, gear, preparation and setup, etc.
One of the most revolutionary threads was the first post by ZA206 when he introduced hammock campers to constriction based hammock suspensions. A moment that will live in infamy for all hammock days: https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ead.php?t=9021
Not long after SlowBro took the time to teach everyone how to build Whoopie slings:

Just a few weeks later we became the first vendor to sell whoopie slings and as anyone can see it has just ballooned from there. Those threads changed many things in the hammock suspension world.
