Warbonnet sells their strap suspension stand-alone, too. Go to "Accessories" and search for "Adjustable webbing suspension". You just need to add the biners (WB sells some as well). I love the WB suspension because it's so simple and versatile.

That's pretty much the idea of my setup. I just finished the PLUQ and haven't used it yet (sleeping pads have done well for me so far but wanted to try out the underquilt). I bought webbing and added sewn loops and just added some DIY whoopies with amsteel from dutchware (VERY fast service!).
says it all. You should also try a Structural Ridge Line. Set it at 83% of the attachment point length when hammock is flat. I'd just use any roughly 1/8 or so utility cord and figure it out. Clove hitch it to your clips and leave a tail. Put a witness mark or measure the tail. Try a bit longer and a bit shorter and pick the spot where it lays best for you. Once set you are done.
YMMV

Free advice worth what you paid for it. ;-)
I use the ENO Atlas Straps and there is no stretch in them like the slap straps, if your not worried about bulk and weight they are a great option and easy to use....little to no fiddle factor, I know their not very popular hear on the forum but they work very well
To the op, you probably feel even more overwhelmed now than before with everyone giving advice. Well, I'll add another piece that should be enlightening and entertaining...check out Shug's how to videos for noobs on YouTube. He explains the basics so you can make a more informed decision before you start shelling out a bunch of money.
I also use the ENO Slap Straps but can't say they
Have been a problem for me
I have also gotten the Atlas Straps by ENO
They do seem to have a lot less strech
Went out slept in in my Hammock four nights
2 nights of rain and never moved lower than how I setup
This is your one stop shop for all Hammock knowledge
With a PLUQ,Just guessing but I would think you could get down to 40 with good top insulation.. Sleeping bag, wool blanket, fleece blanket, what ever you can afford or have on hand
