    Re: Polycro Peak Beaks

    Awesome idea!

One possible use could be to make them be the hammocks storage? It could store the hammock, net, quilts.... make them with a drawcord channel so you can cinch it up???

Brilliant! Why did you make the foot end longer than the head?

There is something already available from Wilderness Logics called the Lazy Slug Tube.... http://wildernesslogics.com/THE-LAZY...-Lazy-Slug.htm

I have a set and use them mostly in the winter.

Can't stand anything over my head -- need air!

But stopping heat loss by convection at the foot end was really nice.

I was describing a completely different use for a completely different product. The end caps are waterproof, and would hae a draw corded end so that one could disconnect one end of the hammock then walk n stuff it all in the other end cap. If one were to make both ends of one end cap a roll top design you would effectively have a dry bag so all gear in it could stay dry as a bone in inclement weather! The lazy slug tube cannot break in two to act as end caps as the OP has made, but maybe your talking about a different lazy slug tube!

But this is JMO and not worth much.

I see! Hmmm ... Have some 1.1 oz. material coming and will have plenty left over for a project like that -- was going to make a stuff sack anyway so this is a great double use idea.

    Thanks, Yoda!

I like the add on but think some folks have mixed up terminology. Here is a grizzbeak:

Different beast than an end cap. Not to knock end caps. I like the polycro for an occasional or developmental way to make something and see how it works. Nice job!
    YMMV
