Well, I think it's at least six, probably more than nine months ago too. So that kinda narrows it down. To only nine and a half gagillion!

I kicked this idea around a while back. (Click HERE) There is some good advice in the comments from several folks.

Just wait a week.. it'll rain again soon enough

I use a cheap tripod folding stool to hold a book, drink etc - keeps anything potentially sharp out of the hammock.

I imagine something similar to what some sailors have. They have
drink holders that work on a gimbal system. This would be important
for the swing of the hammock. Of course, if you are attaching it to your
ridgeline, this would give it much more stability.
I would be VERY hesitant to do anything like this, because one spill and
it would be all over your hammock. That soda would create a sticky bed,
and the beer would make one that smelled bad for days.

Of course, maybe you could wake up drunk from osmosis.

I think the solution for drinking in a hammock, is just to pour your beverage
    into a plastic water bottle.

    Where does your drinks go?

I almost always hang a water bottle from my hammock ridge line using a bottle sling: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bottle_sling

This works very well and the bottle/jug only needs a very slight flange for the knot to hold due to the binding qualities of this knot... Which is one of my favorites.

This is also a good solution. The knot also carries up to twelve bottles, as I learned in the navy. So it'll be at least an hour and a half before you need to get up from lounging in that hammock to re-stock!
