I almost always hang a water bottle from my hammock ridge line using a bottle sling: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bottle_sling

This works very well and the bottle/jug only needs a very slight flange for the knot to hold due to the binding qualities of this knot... Which is one of my favorites.

That knot looks beautiful, but intricate .....
Could something similar be produced with two whoopies on a ridgeline?

its just a wide bag with some reflectix inside. with some zingit to hang it. it works quite well and made with scraps. its hanging over my bed and i use it all the time.

Why not drink all the cider you can, as quickly as you can, while standing up. Then lay back and enjoy your hammock.
