    Where does your drinks go?

So here in the uk we have some rather hot weather so my best solution is to hang in the backgarden with some cider,

but this has lead me to thinking has anyone got a clever solution for keeping their drinks(cans/bottles) without a lid! close by and safe from spillage? Maybe a ridgeline hack or just in the neck of the shoe on the ground which I'm doing at the moment.

When I'm camping I remove the water bladder from my pack, hang it from the slapstraps near my head, close enough to just reach up, grab the drinking tube, and voila'!

Somebody came up with a hanging shelf a while back for exactly what you are describing. Can't remember who or when, but they were pleased with the result.

I remember this too. There were pics of it, and it seemed a very clever solution. Not sure what to search for among the threads, but "hanging shelf" or smth?

OK then, we've limited the search. It must have been an active thread sometime after August of 2011.
That only leaves seventeen gagillion threads to search.

I don't remember a shelf but do recall a hanging coozy type of thing that would hang off the ridgeline with 3-4 lines and suspend the bottle/can in a most convenient location.

You talking about the smokeater one that hung off a tree or something off a tripod?

I'd say a small table or apiece of something flat laid across a folding stool...
    YMMV

No. That is similar to the one Klaussinator did a video on here.
The one rattling around in my head was suspended. Dang if I can find it though.
    My search-fu is weak today.

For disposable water bottles I have seen a little length of paracord used with a hook or biner of some sort. But those bottles generally have a little lip for the cord to catch on. Perhaps a woven paracord sling of sorts? Think of the rope diamond pattern on a traditional bridge type hammock, not sure the name of that style. Coincidentally I've seen these type of slings for definitive hanging wine bottles.
