    Considering an order

So I've recently been enjoying taking rides in the time machine of my mind. It occurred to me that my official traveling hammock has hung in around 12 states and at least 5 countries. I really like the hammock for lounging and am perfectly content to sleep in it. I realized how much I like the hammock in general and how little praise the brand gets.

Then I made the mistake of going to their website. Now, I want to push the button. Problem is, shipping totally sucks to the US. Consider this a feeler thread trying to determine if there is any interest. If there is, I'll put together a Group Buy to save shipping for everyone.

I want a TTTM Mammock Hammock:

That said, I don't want to pay $20 in shipping to get it. So, if anybody has wanted to add a TTTM hammock to their collection, I'll provide the opportunity to do so without getting raped on the shipping. If you're interested post-up in this thread. If I can get half a dozen folks, then I'll post a formal Group Buy thread. If not, well then, I guess I'll just have to spend an extra $20. I bet I could fit both dogs, Genuine Draft, the cat, and the two donkeys in that dang thing. Must have it!

I don't know any details at this point, but would assume the order could be mixed. In other words, you won't have to get the Mammock Hammock if you just want a smaller one. I'll do the research if there is interest.

Does that hammock come with a ladder? Those straps are going to be 12-14' off the ground.
TTTM was my first, and you always remember your first.
My s-hooks didnt like me, had to do my first mod. Been an addict ever since.

ENO was my first parachute material hammock. Then a Trek Light (which somebody I live with has flat-out stolen ). Then I got a TTTM. I tend to favor Trek Light, but that's mostly because I was a contest winner years ago and Trek Light is a local company for me. I like spending money locally when given a choice. Plus, the Trek Lights are slightly longer than the TTTM hammocks of the same name (single, double, etc.). But, there is something about the TTTM hammocks that I really like; can't tell you what it is though.

Mine always travels with me and gets setup as a reading post at the least. Heck, it isn't uncommon for me to take it even when I'll be sleeping in a different hammock. I just like them! The Mammock Hammock, I want as a novelty. I think I have a spot in the back where it will fit...I think.

By "parachute material hammock" do you mean "RipStop?" I always thought rip stop was parachute material.

Just how I've heard people generally describe that style of hammock.

Awesome idea... I have to say that I have their king size hammock, and it is my favorite lounger... far more comfortable than anything else I own...

Oh, their mini backpack is the coolest thing ever. Packs the size of a hackey sack (ok 2).. and is very well designed. It fits enough stuff to be a nice ultralight day pack.

"Parachute" hammock material is different than a nylon "ripstop" hammock material.

ENO-style "parachute" material is closer to a nylon taffeta (matter of fact, I'm pretty sure it is a taffeta) than a ripstop. It's very soft against the skin and doesn't have pronounced fibers in the weave the way that ripstop will. Think something closer to silk sheets than BDUs.

Honestly, that little pack gets a lot of use and is really well designed. It is big enough for a change of clothes... sans shoes...
It stuffs into a little sack smaller than your fist, which is usable when the pack js opened up. It has 2 zippers, one for the main compartment, and one that opens into a hidden side pocket. Straps are small but functional. Not bad for a few ounces. For the price I may get another.
