    Which one for the outside

    So,
I've been trying to re-arrange my pack and I'm out of room on the interior. I simply need to figure out how to rig something to the outside...which is easy to do but I'm not sure which piece of gear would make the most sense.
Should it be the hammock, top quilt, under quilt, or my tarp? I have a gut feeling about it, but I'd like some input from the veterans before I do the deed.
    Thanks in advance!

The tarp, because if it gets wet no biggie.

I put the tarp on the outside in the mesh pocket of my ULA Circuit. Anything I want to keep dry I put in a trash compactor bag at the bottom of my pack. On top of that I put stove and pot, food bag, filter, and Ditty bag. Poncho or rain jacket on top of pack.

One of my most memorable experiences was hiking with a guy using a poncho that he used as a shelter. Right as we got to camp it came a windy downpour. I whipped out my tarp and got it up in about 45-60 seconds. I enjoyed the storm while I watched that guy get drenched while he struggled to get his shelter up in the wind. After a few minutes he gave up and joined me under the tarp until the storm passed.

The tarp because you can set it up first when you get to camp if its raining.
