Since it will be my first UQ it will be the best I have ever used. Been using a pad a long time.
I've been using mine a couple nights now. The thing that struck me the most was the high density of the fill. I've had a few high cost 30f down sleeping bags and they don't even come close to the density of this UQ. This is much more firm and pillow-like.

It's my first UQ as well. I'm very pleased with it.

    Mr. Seventyfive, good luck.

Mine just arrived today! Wonderfully puffy, dri-downy excellence!

Jacks had my order completed and in the mail within hours - not kidding.

I had the same three on my shortlist (actually there were 4 including the incubator). I over-analyzed everything, fretted and compared the models, made comparison spreadsheets, and pestered Shug (Thanks Shug for your patience). His answer was the same 'It's all good, you can't go wrong with any of them'.

I can't wait until fall/winter to test it out. Maybe I'll set up in the walk-in freezer at work if I get too anxious.

    Cheers

I've got the Yeti to go along with my WBBB. I haven't got it completely dialed in yet as I find myself fiddling with it through the night. It's definitely a great UQ though. I just need to get more time with it in the hammock as I've only had a few nights with it. Certainly better than a pad though!

Yeti is a quality quilt. I'm on the fence with a DIY underquilt in full length. Don't care much for a pad in a gathered end hammock and thought I'd give a full length a try for a winter UQ.

Having said that I will say I'm really digging the vertical baffles of the Greylock....when you think about it your top quilt wraps around you and goes down the sides....with the Grelock's vertical baffles IF you need to you can shake the down, down, getting more of it under you versus around you-make sense? And a lot of us have figured out over the years that more underneath means less need on top.
Another observation on the Greylock-it has way more loft then logic would say it does. Pan explained it to me but I didn't completely understand it.
I know you can push the limits on all three underquilts; I've done it out of necessity but I do think push come to shove you can push the Greylock the furthest. Just one man's humble....
I would just like to go ahead and second that. That is exactly the same benefits I am experiencing.

I have a 20* HG Phoenix and I can attest to their superb quality and HG's excellent customer service. Fits my WBBB nicely and keeps me toasty warm.
