    Seam sealant

I just went to Autozone to get some seam sealant for my Superfly, and I ended up with the "Clear RTV Silicone Adhesive Sealant". Before I use it, what is the difference between this and the flowable silicone everyone is using here? Should I return it and see if I can find the other one? The guys at Autozone had no idea what I was asking for, which was more than a little frustrating. This was the one I ended up with but have not opened: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...er=526764_0_0_

You definitely don't won't to use the product in the link above. Here's the one you want: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...er=552992_0_0_

I saw someone post that link in a thread here somewhere, but I didn't see that one in my store. Guess I need to make another trip, thanks!

It isn't easily spotted in my local AutoZone but it should be in the same area as the one you already purchased. Also, there's a "Check Availability" option in the link above so you can check to see if your local store(s) has it in stock.

Auto Zone can order it and sometimes have it delievered to their store the next day even. they are really good about what you order.

The wrong one "Dries to a highly tacky, non-brittle film". I believe that means it remains sticky.

Oooh yeah I see why I don't want that! Well I called the store and they put the correct one on hold, so I can pick it up tonight after my band's practice

My auto parts store found it for me in the Permatex catalogue - they'd never seen it themselves. Turned out the warehouse for the chain had it in stock.

It's now in stock in the store, not that I'll likely need another tube anytime soon but still, it's now there for the next guy!

Well I returned the wrong one and picked up the correct one, so tomorrow I will set up my tarp and seal those panel pulls! Should I set it up inside out and just do the seams on the inside?

You can do just the inside or both sides if you like. People do either. I just did the insides of mine and no leaks so far.
