North Ga Fall Hang

Ok Georgians, and you South Carolinians that venture across the border, the time is nigh for another fall hang.

I'm thinking in October since there are already a few hangs happening this month. We can go with the tried and true Raven Cliffs or Burrells Ford. Or we can get adventurous and try somewhere new.

What say you people?

FYI. There has been some recent bear activity at Raven Cliffs, and the toilets are out of service indefinitely... I don't have any alternate, but I would try to attend at whatever location is decided.

Im in if the dates work. Im tied up with my Ga AT thru hike at the end of Oct. but I believe thats it. Im good with both locations with slight edge to Burrells, but my hammock is just as comfy at Ravens Cliffs!

Yeah, I remember hearing about the bears, didn't realize the toilets were still out though. Not a biggie since anywhere else we go wouldn't have toilets to begin with.

We'll hafta hash out the dates when more people chime in, hopefully it'll work out for you to make it. I'm a big fan of Burrells too but Raven Cliffs is 15 mins from my house which is really convenient. Especially if someone needs to borrow or forgets a piece of gear (like maybe a tarp, you know who you are

) because I have a lot of extra gear. But I'm fine with either location, maybe our sheer numbers will be enough to keep the bears at bay if we do Raven Cliffs.

I can't do the 19th, our daughters wedding weekend, how about the following weekend?
By the way: Two weeks ago I went to Raven Cliffs on a Friday night spur of the moment urge just to get out and hang somewhere, and was "entertained" by a big Mama and her two cubs that came to my site and watched me eat my dinner from 20 feet away! When my friends dog finally growled, they got up,and walked NOT RAN, away. I woke a couple of times hearing them ( or something) moving around my hammock but they never actually bothered me that night. I also saw a big bear jump out of the opening of the sliding door on the dumpster with a big white trash bag in her mouth, then two little cubs followed her into the woods. They know how to slide the door on dumpsters now!! Trash and litter was everywhere around the dumpster. I hate to see this as it will eventually end up being a bad thing for the bears. Just wanted to conform the bear activity comment seen earlier.
I'm up for either place, just can't do the 19th weekend,

I'm in, as far as I know anytime will do. If it is Raven cliffs I will come, but much prefer Burrels Ford. I have had all the bear activity at Raven Cliffs that I want.
