I've changed my setup a bit as I got to play with the hammock some today. I ended up using some rope through the channel that is shorter and not stretchy. Attached to that is the locking carabiner that came with the hammock. From there to the tree strap is a whoopie sling. I added a 550 ridgeline and connected both that and the shock cord to the locking carabiners. I also added a spreader bar near the head end to keep the net apart. This seems to work really well and the changes overall have made it more comfortable.

I'll try to get some pictures tomorrow.

Got the Netted one yesterday. They are using those locking chain links now instead of the hooks. Not bad at all for $25. I'll be buying another when it comes back around again(unless someone wants to unload theirs)

I must say that this is the perfect application of this hammock. Nice pic!

My nephew is just loving this thing. Lot's of smiles for little dough.

I've used Atlas straps since this winter, and I'm very happy with them. They're sturdy and have the loops you need.
I love a good nights sleep as well as anybody - I just love mine elevated...

Well, be sure to take a break. Or that is the point isn't it?...

I really need to rig up something like this outside in the yard. Testing out hammocks in the basement is too dang dungeon-like. And with another new one on the way (3 in 3 weeks) I'd better do something fast.

That's the Ikea GÅRÖ hammock stand. I did a mod on it to so I could add my fly:
