    ME> Frankfort> 26=28 July

Looking to meet up with some of the NE Hammock Forum Family. How about an informal hang on the back of my friends 25 acres. Plans are to just hangout, burn some firewood and compare info. The hike in is only 1/4 mi and easy so if a folding chair or other gear is desired it wouldn't be a problem. The top of Mt. Waldo has been closed by the owner so can't hike up there but the Granite Quarry is still open during daylight hours. Ft. Knox and the Penobscot Narrows Bridge Observatory are less than 10 miles away for a day trip for anyone interested.

Hello SkyPainter, I was thinking today about questioning others up here if something in the first or second weekend of August might be more acceptable to others in the area since there had been no response. From local input this has been a crazy spring/summer in Maine and it may have put some off from making plans to hang. Last night was my wettest hang in a month and it was from the fog condensing on my bugnet. Oh yeah, you would need a bugnet! Let me know if things work out.

===> Hi! Living here, I have learned that I always need a bug net! LOL! So all of my hammocks have them Beginning of August or so would work even a little better for me, I think. Would take one of my WBBBs. My new RidgeRunner would probably not be ready yet.

Either way, sounds like fun, and we could maybe get a little Bushcraft practice in, too! Anyplace nearby to fish?

No problem changing weekends, you call it, either the 2-4 or 9-11 of Aug. I'm sleeping outside every night and just have to relocate 1/4 mi down the trail. Haven't figured out how to hang my hammock inside the RV and keep my wife happy. As far as fishing I haven't done any yet but the Marsh River is visible from the front of the property and people do fish out there.

===> Great! As we get closer, I will let you know if I can get there! Sounds like it would be a fun time! I need to juggle medical appts around as well as some family obligations, but anything can be done with some planning and fortitude.

Thanks again for the offer! Hopefully others can drop by as well!

Sounds like a plan coming together! Was kinda leaving the actual weekend up to SkyPainter as to the first or second weekend. Hope that you will be able to make it RKP and that some others would like to join in on a relaxed easy hang. Night before last had to get up and grab some more covers, days can be warm but the nights are great.

Hello Mainewoods, Recognize you from BCUSA. More than happy to have you along. Just need to nail down which weekend in August. I'll be getting with SkyPainter and set a solid date.
