    NC>Nantahala>Panthertown Valley>OMG experience

Brushes with greatness. We all have them. So many things happened to let us hike with 'Buffalo Bill'; fresh off an airplane and 6 months in Iceland, Poof picked him up in Charlotte and rushed him to Folkmoot in Waynesville to perform with other fiddlers from Winnepeg.......next thing you know he's hiking with us in the Panthertown Valley. I'm still high from the hike, from Panthertown and getting to fiddle a day with him.
On the backpacking side of things a Huge thanks to PhillipStart/ConSpeedy from Oz who put me onto the lightest baking system I've ever seen. I could have used more oil in the pot and some flour but the end result was a gigantic fully cooked muffin....all at the cost of just one spacer and the actual baking pot...I'd be carrying a caldera cone anyway and the pot the baking pot goes into.
Back to Panthertown....if you watch the vid you'll see the PERFECT spot for a group hang, a group hangers paradise. So many features in such a concise hike.....
Now at the end at the typical slide show with pics from the trip Buffalo Bill in my mancave of gear picked up a Bridge electric violin, a violin he'd never seen nor played and started doing his thing; I clicked Audacity and got what I could!...amazing talent!
    Hope you enjoy:

MM,,,fantastic hike and video...had to expand it to full screen and watch it twice!!! Awesome background music by Buff. Bill as well. Can't wait to eventually get down south in God's Country this fall. Its driving me and the wife nuts, the wait. Need the sole clensed by the mountains and beauty of the south. Once again,,very envious, keep the videos coming for us to enjoy! Hi Poof! Oh,,forgot,,the beard and stash,,is very becoming! Keep it growing.

Please all watch for the group hang site. I've been to MANY group hangs and this place bekons, it begs for hangers to unite. I've never ever seen a hang site like this. Hike in Friday night and explore in so many directions for views or waterfalls in any direction the next day; then group feed. Probably won't have Buffalo Bill to serenade but I was freeking out to have this level of player to hike with us....well post hike just sitting in my cave he picks up the electric and amazes me. I did ask if I could use it in the vid, he was totally cool with it. Sadly where he lives in Iceland NO trees And to think I got to fiddle with him....blessed.
    Thanks Acer.

Keep me posted if you have a group hang there,,very nice spot. Will try and get down if the wife can get off from work,,if not,,might have to upset her and leave her behind again as I have had to the last couple of hikes and that doesn't set to well with her. But! have to do what you have to do, if you know what I mean!

Bravo MM^1! That was excellent. That had it all; night hiking, downpour, waterfalls, rhododendron tunnels, views, map reconnoitering, group hang site discovery, and even hiking with the artist that scored your video! Very nice

That was an amazing post. Beautiful scenery, excellent music. Especially enjoyed a little "I'll fly away" from the believers near the end. Post was extremely appreciated.

Great video MM. Panthertown looks like a great place. Good fun with "Dallying Llama's", muffin eaters, conversion characters and good pickin.
