    New Hammock Camper

During my 3 years in Scouts I have always slept in a tent, but recently my tent(a $20 Ozark Trail Dome Tent) started leaking, and since it would cost more to seal it than it cost in the first place, I figured I would buy a new one. After trying out a friend's hammock, I decided I would get one. After doing some research, I have decided to get a Hennessy Expedition Asym Classic Bottom Entry.

    Welcome to Hammock Forums!

I to am fairly new to the hammock scene, coming from a Tarptent to a hammock. I have never had a Hennessy but from what I have learned they seem to be great pieces of gear.

Enjoy yourself, there is a lot of learning to be done here.

Welcome to the forum. Some people I know have Hennessy hammocks and they love them. Enjoy.

Welcome to the forum, but be careful. Once you buy one hammock, you'll buy more eventually.

Welcome to the site. Like was mentioned a post or two ago, this is a very slippery slope. Now that your foot is in ... watch out.

The people around here are very giving of their knowledge. If you have any questions, just ask.

Welcome to the forums. I live just South of you (Huntsville, AL). I hope to spend more time in your state hanging in my hammock. Had a great campout in Savage Gulf in February!

Hey Welcome, from one Eagle to Another.
I think that your name is wrong, it should be
EagleScout411, because now you are going to learn
what real camping is about. There is nothing like
    the mobility of a hammock!

The DIY section of this site is amazing. You will like
the TurtleLady stand, as it can be made from bamboo,
and it is not much more than two tripods and a stronger
    pole between them!

    Thanks for the welcome everybody,
I might have to take you up on that offer sometime STinGA, check out the Weather Protection Forum.
I just missed you Brad, I was just in Savage Gulf back in March, it poured rain all weekend and we went rappelling anyway. Rappelling in freezing cold rain, that was interesting.
411? Ha Ha, I doubt it. No hammock compares to a shelter of wood, bark and brush next to a well fed campfire all built with nothing your but own two hands, a pocket knife, and some paracord earlier that day, once in the winter, once in the summer.
BTW, it's nice to see a few more Eagles on the forum, any of you get to go to the National Jambo a couple weeks ago?
