Yes, I will offer up a few paddle trips again this year. I'm going to change them up a bit. I'll get them all sorted out and get them posted.

    Looking forward to seein' Y'all!

(I'll try to monitor the thread a little closer)
    The Yak master has spoken

I will be monitoring your planning progress so I can plan the yak races in Buck Lake around the Spring Runs. I don't want to step on your toes because you do such an awesome job on the Runs. The race times may be a little fluid(pun intended )depending on who wants to race and the interest shown.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

Well Andy, I didn't know you had become a Yak Master...... maybe you've been sipping too much of that mountain spring water!

You are however a great kayak guide and I would reccomend anyone to trust in your expirience and safety skills on the water.

This is the guy to go with if you want to see parts of Florida you dont get to see from a car!

Haha. Sorry, didn't even think of it that way. I was referencing Tims post #101 but now, just chuckling away like a little kid.

    Wrong!

Just wrong! Not a master just like to share the experience. I'll try to iron out the paddles soon so we won't be waiting on me to schedule other events. The only trip that will need to start early will be Silver Springs. I'm going to make Alexander Springs an out and back (very short) and a trip to the showers.

Thanks for the endorsement Cakes! I hope you will be with us on a trip or two.

I hope to participate in other events this year. I always seem to miss a bunch while we are away on the paddle trips.

    WooHoo!

You're welcome Andy, You deserve it. I'll be there and I still haven't gotten to paddle one of your cedar strip kayaks yet! I've been waiting in anticipation ever since I missed last year. Hopefully the paddle Gods will get me there this year.

Thanks Andy for the call for clarification.
We are starting this thread this early precisely so that no one is rushed.

The kayaking trips are all yours Andy and you have plennnnty of time to plan them. So feel free to take your sweet time around planning.

    Likewise everyone else.
We have plenty of time to plan things then change our minds and do something else then throw that out and go back to plan A then start again with something completely different. So don't feel stressed because someone is clamoring "whatarewegoingtodowhatarewegoingtodo!?!" Tell them to "get in their hammock, take two naps and call me in the morning."

    2014 4th annual florida hang

Thanks for the welcoming, and I look forward meeting everyone.

Timberr, I would be glad to help out with a basic knots class-workshop-pow wow, we'll just have to see what interest there is and how far to take it. Amsteel is pretty easy to splice, and granted deserves a separate class on its own.

Also, I would like to know more a bout the site at Buck lake, are there enough trees to hang from? (Stand or hang, that is the question?) How far is parking from the site?

There're most definitely enough hang spots for ~100+ folks. Some of 'em are right next to the parking lot; some of 'em require up to an half-mile's walk. Normally, the spots near the lot, we try to save for folks with younger children.

Here's a graphic I dug out of one of the old threads:

The "more hanging spots" portion of the map goes out about 3/4 of a mile before meeting up with the FT, and there are literally dozens of good spots back that way.

    Hope it helps!
