I would love to be recertified for CPR and am always interested in First Aid.
You really need to, please, please, please write it down, stamp all notes, carve it in stone, use permanent marker on your calender to come down.
Even if not a full class, a refresher in First Aid would be extremely beneficial for many of us. I will sign up for this course at FH4.
Thanks for thinking of us and offering your skills. Even if you don't hold a workshop for us, we still want you coming down for FH4. You won't be disappointed.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you
GUMBO!!!! I can't believe you are making beignets again!!! It was so much work for that crowd. Did u make it for FH3? Want me to bring a box of mix?
Turtledog class would be great. Even better if people who sign up could pre-purchase a kit. I have no idea where to buy bamboo etc.
Too soon to think of food prep but I'll definitely make some morning hot chocolate.
There seems to be enough interest here to make this an official activity. So this is what I'm thinking at this point.
I'll bring the materials:
Wood, top rails, hinges, S-hooks, nuts, bolts & washers
Hopefully I can buy in bulk and save a few bucks.
I'll bring some hand tools & portable power tools but will need more:
Saw, drill, pipe cutter, tape, marker, wrench and sockets
If you bring tools, please put your name on them.
Projected challenges:
1. Pre-registraion and pre-paying is probably going to be necessary.
We want to be open to someone wanting to join at the last minute but I'm hesitant to bring extra materials. It's not just the cost of unused materials but what are we going to do with them? It's kind of like cooking - we want plenty for everyone but we don't want any leftovers.
2. There are several techniques for attaching a hammock to a TDS. We could just get end caps for everyone, but some folks prefer to use Amsteel loops. So should I bring 10-12' of Amsteel for everyone? Making continuous loops would be part of the activity.
3. Another preferential thing is how to prevent excessive leg-spreading. It would be easiest to put a screw-eye in each leg and run a line through them. But some prefer the cleaner looks of angled cuts on the top of each leg. It would be more challenging to do that in the field than in a shop.
So I'm looking for input and ideas. Just remember our basic tenet is to stick with the K.I.S.S method. (So no, we're not going to bring out a generator to power a table saw.)
