I checked in with the Ranger Station today to make sure everything is in order at Buck Lake. We are good. They are expecting us and remember what a nice group of folks we are. Let's make sure to keep in their good favor by leaving the site in better condition than we when we enter it (like we always do.)
Confirmed delivery of the firewood, more than a cord so 4x4x8 plus some.
See you guys in one week or sooner! For those of you wanting to arrive Thursday remember it's fine to do so, but please plan to show up around noon. I want to have enough time to make everything right for you guys!
Thursday evening meal is on your own. Friday for lunch I'll be making a pot of Taco Soup that will be for lunch/dinner for everyone or until I run out.
Saturday morning breakfast should feed all and Saturday evening is the feast.
Sunday morning breakfast should feed all and Sunday evening will probably be left over Gumbo or leftover Taco soup (there has always been in the past).
Monday morning breakfast should feed all as well.
There will be desserts nightly I am sure from the Duch Ovens.
Remember to plan back up meals in case you somehow miss out. Remember as well to bring your plate/bowl, spork or spoon and coffee cup to the common area with you.

I'm biking in on Friday, rather than hiking. My intention is to be out the door by dawn (so, ~7:20ish), when it's almost light enough for me to be able to ride without lights. That would put me at the site around 5 PM, assuming nothing goes wrong on the ride and that I follow this route. My alternate is this route, which would shave about an hour off of that but has ~17 miles without a bike lane. It should be a fun ride, and I'd be willing to meet up somewhere along either route. I've finally got a phone that gets signal along the way past Palatka and/or Silver Springs, so we can get in touch somewhere along there.

Chuck and I will be hiking in from Clearwater Lake CG at the south end of ONF on Friday. If you'll be in the area of Buck Lake on thursday pm, you can ride down there with us.
I hope there's going to be room in the vehicle for me. My list seems to be getting longer and longer!
I'd like to get in on a hike, but I won't be there until Friday afternoon. I'll most likely do an out-and-back hike (2 hours out, 2 hours back). I don't have a pedometer, so I won't know how far I go. Maybe I'll pick one up between now and then (have been meaning to get one).
If anyone else wants to hike with me, I'd be up for that.

Sad I can't make this year guys. It was a wonderful blast last year, and I enjoyed every minute. Have fun without me.
There will be a group hike on Saturday, either an out and back to Farles Lake or maybe a shuttle to Alexander Springs and hike back.
