There should be but a phone call to the park can answer that question better than I can and you will need to call them anyway to get information on hanging (if they tell you it's not allowed then tell them that you want to speak to the park manager because FL state parks recently changed the rules to allow hammocks)

I know, that is what I was answering. I'm pretty sure there should be lots of trees but you should call to make sure that they will allow you to hang out there. Anclote Key is a state park so you need to call ahead of time. The good news is that Anclote is one of the few state parks that actually doesn't offer you much so I think they have more of the attitude that, "If you can make it out there and want to spend the night then just behave like an adult and you're good to go".

The one thing to remember, though, is that I think it is a popular spot for party's on weekends/holidays (although I don't think they stay the night).

I live in St. Pete. Ft. Desoto is out. There is almost an 8 month waiting list to get in to camp. There is a couple Islands that you can paddle to, but you need to get a pass for overnight. I have scoped these out. Not a whole lot for hanging and lots of stickers to contend with. I fish all over Tampa Bay and have been searching for spots to do an overnight, As of yet, I haven't been very successful. I will still keep looking, as there are places I have not tried yet.

Good to know. I've wanted to do the West coast since in-laws are there. On the East coast, there is the Indian River and Lagoon from Ponce Inlet(South of Daytona) on the North side down to Fort Pierce on the South side with very many spoil islands that allow camping.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you
