Just curious what is the more preferred version ... does one last longer than the other? I would think the snaps would wear out over time compared to the stitching ... ?

I use the snaps on the 40 and 50 degree TQ's I have,,and then,,the 20's are sewed foot boxes as I want the total warmth in the cold. The wife is hot natured, and she likes her 20 with snaps and keeps the bottom open so her feet can stick out. I have honestly tried to cover her up when it was 30 and blowing snow in a 40 mph wind,,and she woke up and gave me 3 kinds of hash for doing that. Its a matter of personal preference. The snaps everybody uses,,are really good snaps and won't wear out. If you have trouble with one,,all you have to do with most of our manufacturers is let them know and they will take care of it for you and normally is no charge as they all back their products.

Or get a TQ from Tim at Enlightened Equipment and it will have a zipper footbox instead. Works well for me.
Edit: Actually technically it has a couple of snaps as well.

I have the sewn footbox. I didn't have much of an opinion either way when I ordered mine so I just asked Adam at HammockGear what he would recommend. He recommended a sewn footbox, and that's fine with me.
I have snaps on another UQ and I would prefer a sewn footbox. Just don't have a need to open it up.

I have snaps. My wife can open it up and use it on the couch.of course, if the snaps start wearing out or pulling loose, I can drop it on the sewing machine and have a sewn foot box in a few minutes....
I have a 20 degree Burrow with a sewn footbox and it works very well. I was concerned about losing heat with the snaps and about their longevity but I have no direct experience with them. Good luck!
Never tell people how to do things. Tell them what to do and they will surprise you with their ingenuity.

When getting a 0*Burrow in January I asked for opinions on the forum.
A number of replies : sewn footbox for deep winter and snaps in warmer seasons when weather will be greatly varied.

I got snaps for my 40 degree top quilt. Used it fully open tent camping with the family last weekend. I like the versatility of being able to open it up.
