    Ya 17 ounces is a bit heavy for just a bug net. Some have made hammocks lighter than this.

    I just ordered two - one for the wife and I. I don't think weight is an issue during the summer months in texas.

    Aye, they have. My entire hammock, bug net included weighs 16oz. Still though, if you're not going ultralight or long distance I wouldn't mind that much weight.
