Drive right up, we will have a parking area defined to avoid cars every where but if your truck is also your RV I think we can make arrangements for you...

Haha, thanks paul. Its nothing more than a queen air matress in the back with tarps over the ladder rack, but the kids love it. I appreciate it. Tryin to get them to sleep in their hammocks, but they wont have it for some reason...

Ill have to work on that

    Haywin,
Pay at the group area when you arrive at camp.
Once at Deep Lake, tell the ranger your a hammock nerd and they will let you in.
We will have signs leading you back to the group area.

Hi, I'm just starting out and this is the first big group hang that is close to me. I just signed up hope there is still room. I'm coming up from Columbus, OH and face a 5 hour drive. Is there any thing needed that won't spoil ie chips, bread, or under sundries that might help.

Does anyone suggest going up through Toledo vs. Fort Wayne?

I'll send the PM for the park n ride.

    Thumbs up I'm in!

I will be joining the outing, and plan on bringing my mountain bike, and a contribution of chili and/or cornbread depending on funds. I will be bringing a at least two hammock set-ups and a couple of extra tarps.

For the hammocks I am planning to bring two full sets: One monster 90x156" DL table cloth hammock with an insulated PLUQ, down TQ, and 12' UGQ Winter Dream tarp and for the opposite extreme my UL backpacking SL hammock with Cuben Tarp and UGQ set. Since I will be by myself on this trip, one of the sets could be made available for use. I could put together a couple of additional hammock kits if needed - just let me know.

Since I will be traveling across the state from Bay City in an empty car, I am also willing to carpool or pickup anyone needing a ride. I am planning to take the Cadillac instead of the diesel truck to conserve on fuel costs, but should have plenty of room for up to 3 additional people and gear. I would probably travel down 75 to Flint then across by Lansing on 69 to 96. Alternately, I could also travel across to 127 or 131 if there is anyone else looking for a ride, they're all about the same distance.

Looking forward to an enjoyable weekend, as circumstances have otherwise limited many of my summer plans.

    Michael

I will have an extra UQ with me. I should be over there around 6:30 on Fri.
