Jeff,
This time I used my Insul Mat Max pad which is tapered at both ends along with the ccf pad cut short. It still managed to slide up and out of the hammock on the foot end along with my sleeping bag. Also somehow the valve on the pad unscrewed so the pad was totally flat in the morning. By the pads sliding out of the hammock my shoulders to approx mid chest were laying directly on the hammock with no insulation.
The temps were in the low 40s to upper 30's?? I wasn't cold even with my bag used as a quilt drapped over me.
I still toss and turn all night but that is me. Doesn't matter where I sleep. I didn't fall out this time..guess that is progress.
