Not your typical trip report here but this past weekend I was in Baltimore were my wife and I visited the USS Constellation where we found the Berth Deck. As most of you know, sailors on old ships often slept in hammocks. I thought some may like to see a little glimpse of maritime and hammocking history. I laid in one but it was not nearly as comfortable as my much longer camping hammock.
The hammocks were pretty well packed in there but judging from the open hooks and empty holes I would imagine a lot more could be squeezed in if needed.
If interested, there are more pictures of the hammocks, the rest of the ship and a few from Fort McHenry HERE.
