    Washing the fabric from tableclothsfactory?

To sum it up, I know extremely little about fabrics in general. Sorry for being such a newbie.

I have just received a 90x156 chocolate crinkle taffeta from the tableclothsfactory site thank to the review on that fabric elsewhere on this hammock forum.

In the tableslothsfactory review thread, someone mentioned washing the fabric to get a better feel to it. However, I have no idea exactly how I should wash it? Just dump it in a cold wash cycle and gentle dry? Do this fabric require more care than that?

The fabric does not have any washing instruction on the tag.

    Thank you.

My wife and I have a 90x156 sage green crinkle tablecloth hammock for hanging in the yard and I washed in with some towels on a regular warm wash with our regular detergent, and dried it on high with the towels. It came out much softer than right out of the package.

I just wash in cold and throw in dryer on low heat but Burning Daylight said, sounds like you will be good either way.

A google search for how to wash polyester fabric results in general instructions to wash in warm water and dry on low heat with a fabric softener sheet.

Washed a 90x132 and 60x126 on cold together with nothing else in the washing machine with a little detergent and then just hung them up to air dry. They will dry super fast as a. the fabric is relatively thin and allows air to pass through b. polyester doesn't really absorbe water (as opposed to, say, cotton which is like a sponge)

I washed in cold water using the delicate cycle. Then I hung them to dry. Worked fine.

Do it about once a month for a nice, clean hammock. Warm and warm just cuzz it fills the washer faster. normal dry.

    website says......

the website says handwash in cold water and it is good for about 100 uses.

I think the website is being over cautious.

I just got three of them, and two more in the mail as I am making them for other ppl. Right out of the box, they seemed nice and soft. Love the colors, Turquoise, purple and chocolate.

Never seen the colors run... I have always just washed mine on warm, and dried at medium... But that's what I default everything to...
