Yep, that's always an option, but many like having the fall and spring hangs in different spots for variety and so the driving distance varies. Plus different people organize the fall and spring events to give each other a break from the volunteer effort. It's easier to organize something that is closer to you for site visits and such.

But everything is on the table for this year.

Glad I saw this!. I was Heading to BRC tomorrow to get some trail reports.
    Here's any idea:
    http://www.nps.gov/prwi/planyourvisi...eyrunridge.htm
This is an excellent camping area with many hiking trails check the map, each site holds 25 to 45 people. (3) site hold 25 people each, (3) sites hold 40 people each. There is an amphitheater with fire ring. I have camped near these sites in the primitive campgrounds. There is a lot of history in this park and may work if ya'll want to keep it close to the original site (approx 70-75 miles).
I am a member of the PATC trail patrol and take trips here once in a while. I can scope it all out if it becomes a serious option.
    Just a suggestion.

ToHa. This looks like a really good suggestion. I see there's a pavilion and group camping. We'll have to check on parking. But thanks! If not this year, maybe in the near future. Thank you!

Attention! Fall MAHHA to relocate. No longer at BRC in Virginia.

Comment on Turkey Run. They do allow hammocks the only restriction is 1 1/2" straps. (New policy this Spring) I have stayed in the group sites at PWSF but not sure if it was TR. Some sites were sparse on usable trees. Nice place with many beautiful trails.

Unless they have changed positions, PWF does not allow hammocks.

PWF updated their position on hammocks this Spring. Require 1 1/2" straps. There was another thread about this and I downloaded a PDF of their new policies.
