Yes, with XTrekker and WV still having leads, I'm not giving up quite yet. My post 79 is just some food for thought on the backup plan to the backup plan.

Hamhocker and I have already gotten approval for those days off to attend this. If the dates change then we won't be able to make it. We also don't want to drive any more hours than the 9 hrs to get there.
lets hope something gets worked out soon
I'll even do multiple group hangs if we end up splitting them within the region.
Still waiting for a call back from the owner. I looked at a satellite photo of the place and I am wondering if they misunderstood what a hammock shelter is..Lot of open fields but I do see alot of forests also...Will post an update later today..Also just finished sending off another 8 emails to some other site possibilities. Gonna keep going down the list of every single campground in Northern VA. Hope one of them can accommodate us.
Edit: Just found a Tree Farm campground located in Shenandoah Valley. Sent them an email with the criteria mentioned previously in the thread...Will update when I get a response.
Just got off the phone with the owner(John) of Amelia Family Campground and from what he said, I think we have a winner..
He fully understood what a hammock shelter was and thinks that we could get 100 hammocks in there but suggests for me to make a visit to verify. He said he has a Bluegrass festival there every year for over 30 years and they have much larger groups than ours so parking is no problem. He says bathrooms and showers are up to date and can handle our group...He also has a Pavilion with a stage and kitchen attached to it.
The name of the campground is Amelia Family Campground and their location is 9720 Military Road (Rt 153 South) Amelia, Virginia 23002...It isnt as far North as I was hoping, its located west of Richmond, VA.
If this is a central enough location for everybody then I think a few of us should to go up there and scout it out and bring back pictures...I might be able to do it but no guarantees.
I told him I would let yall know about it and that we would get back to him once we reach a decision.
Abe Lincoln likes it...
Sounds good!!!
Amelia is just 1-1/2 hours from me. I can't find the orginal spreadsheet to sign up. Since this will be my first group hang, what do I need to do and bring?
How much does this place want to charge us?
Certainly looks like parking is a non-issue, and there would appear to be plenty of trees in this video:
