I always say, what goes around comes around.... Those bandanna's are pretty slick. When the weather heats up here again I'll see if I can grab you a spare. And thanks again for your generosity

Prez, The mailman brought my Figure Nine's today as well. Many thanks. This trading around is a very inexpensive way to try new stuff and gain a wider scope of experience. Plus it welds an growing relationship into place.

I've used the stock HH suspension, converted to ring buckles, and moved on to cinch buckles. I think the cinch buckles will get the long term nod. My BB has the Tri-rings, and they work well and are light weight, but, I think the most sure, most safe, most brainless way to hang a hammock is with the cinch buckles. Just come off of the hammock with a line, tie a loop with a bowline, and then a hitch of some sort (knot-nazi's, forgive me, I don't know the name), maybe a double loop garda hitch, or a sort-of prussic hitch, which attaches the line to the buckle, then off to the strap. It's sure, it's safe, it's simple. Others, like Happy Camper, have opted to move from the buckles to the rings, but, I know in my heart of hearts, that there will soon be a move back to the buckles. 'Course, I've been wrong before. This may be another of those times.

Enjoy the buckles, I'll have fun trying the Figure Nines, and we can compare notes later. I sure enjoyed the hike/camp in Sipsey.

I tried using cording for attaching the tri-glides to the hammock. What I found was that the cording is not really stable or wide enuf to really hold the triglides securely. I would be concerned about the same thing with a cinch buckle. I don't have that problem with the rings.

Rev, It's really no problem...just use the looped line to make two turns aroung the buckle (sorry I don't know the name of the knot) and it is wide enough to keep the buckle straight. The rings are good, but have an unsettling dependency on the safety half-hitch. But, in reality,either the rings or the buckles are just fine, just as the Hennessey knot or the Speer double wrap is just fine...It's all a matter choice and confidence. DTE

What size line are you using? My straps are already made, I just need to attach the buckles to my hammock now (Claytor JH)
