    Dutch hook?

    Hey guys, how do you get the dutch hook onto your ridgeline? I have seen a 30' line with a dutch hook on one end. The dutch hook is on there permanatley it looks like in a loop...am i Making sense? Any help is appreciated.

    The rope is probably Zing-it which is a hollow braid that is spliceable. You put the line through the Dutch hook and then splice the line. It was probably made using a locked brummel.

    a lot of folks use a locked brummel. thread the Dutch hook onto the line before making the locked brummel.

    Thanks guys!! I bought a 100' mini-spool of 1.75mm single braid dyneema, can I make the locked bromel with this cord? Or does it have to be zing it? The step by step illustration was extremely helpful. If I have to have zing it where can I buy it?

    Zing-it is made of Dyneema so it's probably the same and therefore spliceable.

    Ur looking for a 12 strand hollow braid eye splice. You can get some basic splicing instructions from samsonrope.com.
