Just got my first hammock last week(Eno Doublenest) just in time to bring it to the Cascade Lakes Relay race friday. We were finally able to get a little sleep at 11pm friday night, it only took me a few minutes to setup in the dark with my kammock straps and I was set. Laying there in my 0 degree bag(with exped pad under me), looking up at the milky way I hear the sounds of coyotes howling/hunting in the distance and I was out. Alarm went off at 1:30am and while I didn't want to get up, I wasn't groaning like everybody else was who was sleeping on the ground.
Another round of running, was able to hit the hammock again around 10am and again had a few nice hours of slumber. When I woke up, I had a lot of people asking me about my hammock as they were complaining about their backs and shoulders hurting from the dirt. Oh and they were most jealous as I was making cup-o-noodles while still in my hammock
I will say using the pad is a bit of a pain, am glad I already ordered an UQ during the Arrowhead equipment sale. What an amazing way to sleep though.. I loved it!
