    california hang advice needed

Since my A T hike got chewed up till next year,I thought that I would try to squeeze in a dream hike when I go to San Diego for my sons marine graduation.
I want to hike in a red wood forest for a week .
Can anyone recomend a good trail?
Ive never been west of the rockies, what kind of conditions can be expected in december?

In December, a very good chance of rain and wind, but if it's nice, it's really nice.

Just got back from Central CA yesterday - hiked in Pfieffer State Park. I think that's about as far south as a good stand of trees go. Its a little south of Monterey and probably 7 hours from Pendleton.

Here is a resource that might help: http://www.redwoodhikes.com/

There are several hikes in the Santa Cruz area also that take your breath away.

The sequoias are a little further south but they are east of where I live. They have redwoods there, but you might be after the coastal redwoods which are a little different.
Happy Trails to one and all.
Enjoy the outdoors wisely and elevate your perspective.

Hairbear: Find the book "Afoot and afield in San Diego". I lived there for a couple of decades and there are quite a few trails just east of SD. That book will give you lots of options.
