    Thread Injector Training Needed

This weekend the wife and I dropped off her Thread injector at the local Sharman sewing center for a clean and fix. It is stuck in reverse. Neither she nor I have any training at all on how to use the thing and we want to start making our own gear. The sewing center offered a class that was for intermediate to advanced sewers, not what we are looking for. Is there better video's or a better place to look for tutorials on how to use this thread injector thing? We have a Janome L392.

I got a thrift store sewing machine myself fairly recently. It took me a while to find a copy of the manual for my specific machine, ended up having to shell out for it as I couldn't find one for free. I think I learned more from that 12pg manual than from anywhere else. It seems silly but they really do put a lot of very useful information in there.

Now I just need to get in some practice time to get a feel for how the machine operates with different fabrics and threads. The tension system on mine is all manual so I'll have to adjust that with each time that I switch fabrics or threads. Mine also came with a few (non-computerized) stitch patterns, most of which are decorational.

Thanks, we have the manual and all I can say is that even threading the machine is sketchy according to he diagrams. May be when we get it back with it working correctly we will have better luck.

and FWIW - 6-8 stitches/inch. Try a few stuff sacks to get started. You also might want to check stores like JoAnne's for classes.
    YMMV

Thanks for the FWIW. Hopefully we will get the injector back with little damage to the pocket book. Stuff sacks are my favorite thing so that sounds like a good place to start. Kinda been wanting to make a compression sack of my own design too.
