    winter tarp questions

Having a toss up between the "Old Man Winter" tarp from Wilderness Logics and the "Winterdream" from UGQ. I could use some first hand knowledge as I plan to do some winter camping this year.

honestly don't think you could go wrong with either. I just spent a couple weeks looking at tarps and either place answered questions promptly. Mostly who has the features you want in a tarp would be the best question.

Not to throw a wrench in the works, but you might also consider the Superfly from Warbonnet.

They are all good tarps, and get the job done. You can't go wrong with any of them. Pick the one that appeals most to you, and you'll be happy.

As Boston said, consider the Warbonnet Superfly as well.

I can't speak for the Old Man Winter from WL as I've never used one, but I've heard nothing but good things about it. I do have a Winter Dream from UGQ and absolutely love it. Things I like about it: comes seam sealed, snaps on the doors, all attachment points are Beastee Dee D-rings (http://www.backwoodsdaydreamer.com/p...z/beastee-dee/), and 2 pole mod comes standard (poles not included). I know from experience that customer service from either UGQ or WL will be great...as someone else mentioned I think it mainly comes down to which tarp has the features you're looking for and UGQ's Winter Dream had the features for me.

Lol. One thing I've noticed from the hammock crowd, they never really help people decide when choosing between products. Almost half will vote each way, with the remainder offering another option, all of which will be good.
Just from looking at their pics, the Winter Dream seems to close up nicer than the Old Man Winter. Unfortunately, neither manufacturer really does a good job of explaining their mods, or showing pictures of them.

i have a WD and LOVE it. it just provides so much function. as said before, the doors have snap closures, you can get a center pole mod as well as the included end pole mods, and the customer service is awesome.

i also have the WL big daddy, but its not the one with doors. again, great workmanship and service there too.
